Kaspar Hauser, or Laziness Heart is a novel by the German modernist author Jakob Wassermann. The novel was first published in 1939. The book depicts the life of Kaspar Hauser, a famous European foundling who is still a controversial figure. Wassermann relied on the romantic version of the young man's royal blood lineage.
