Woyzeck is an unfinished play by Georg Büchner, published in 1879 after the death of the author. Karl Franzoz had a hand in rewriting the text. In the center of the plot is the soldier Franz Woyzeck, who lives in a provincial German town. He lives with a girl named Maria and their child, born out of wedlock. Woyzeck tries to make a living by any means, so one day he agrees to an ambiguous experiment.
