"Woe from Wit" is a play by Griboyedov, published in 1825 (then completed in 1862). This work is a satire on the high society of the first half of the 19th century. The main character, Alexander Chatsky, returns to his homeland to marry Sofya Famusova, a girl with whom he has been in love for three years. But only disappointment awaits him at home: not only in love, but also in all the people around him.
