«The Road Back» in German with a Parallel Translation

This novel is the sequel to the book All Quiet on the Western Front. The novel was first published in 1931. Here the characters return to their normal life. But after the hardships of war, living like they used to doesn't seem to be possible for them. They try to find their own place in this new world, but this task is beyond the reach for many, that is why they prefer to die from their own hands rather than from a bullet.
