The Devil's Elixirs is a 1815 novel by Ernst Hoffmann. The protagonist monk Medard is tempted by the obscure Satan's elixir. The monk turned to committing one sin after another when he tasted the elixir. He fell in love with the girl Aurelia and wants to take possession of her. He commits a number of terrifying murders before he regrets everything. He writes a book about his life as a punishment.
