
The Savage Detectives is the fifth novel by the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño, published in 1998. The work contains three sections: the first one is set in late 1975 and is told by the young poet, Juan García Madero. The second section covers the period between 1976 and 1996 and includes stories of various characters. And the third section brings the reader back to the diary of the young Madero. This novel made Roberto Bolaño extremely famous and has been translated into many languages.
